I decided during my first week in Berlin that Mondays will be a domestic day where I may work, do laundry, or chores, but I don’t try to go sightseeing or out on the town in Berlin. This is not a hard rule, but let’s call it a guideline for my health. I have been doing a lot of sightseeing, plus working, plus trying to fit in my sketching. I am not getting enough sleep, as usual.
Having said that about Monday being my day off, today I did find the energy to attend a life drawing session in a cultural centre around the corner from my Berlin apartment. It’s a 5-minute walk, and it’s a 2-hour session on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. I knew that would be a great option for a winter evening. So I dropped by there and did a few drawings. It was still a day of taking it easy.
zig, you party animal!
that’s great you’re seeing / experiencing the artist life…yes, rest when the body say so, but as you said ‘sleep is overrated’ ; )
u can catch up when u return home.
I like that bookstore pic from a few entries back (with the domed roof)– makes for an interesting interior sketch. and I really liked the cafe sketch with your new found friends over there. Oola’s flickr site just blew me away and I think the drawing you purchase from her would look great in your living room or studio.
been browsing through a ton of pen, ink, watercolour sketches via Urban Sketchers blog. there’s a ton of good links to other cities as well. the Singapore group has such a great community. not surprised that Vancouver doesn’t have one. : (
btw, Urban Sketchers book is out, but you prob knew that already.
I’ve been reworking some of my urban shots in Illustrator/PS…playing with some brushes and stuff, shooting new images, etc. been inspired by what you’re doing.
go get ’em zig!
merry xmas and all the best for 2013.
